JOCKSTRAP JOY

Following last month’s phenomenal offering ‘Hayley’, London’s Jockstrap have shared another experimental pop jam called ‘Joy’. Divided into two distinct sections, the first half of ‘Joy’ sees vocalist Georgia Ellery’s beautifully seductive vocals shining through a backdrop of complex strings, before taking a sharp U-turn into a weird free-styled synth-pop rap. Ellery told TMR, “‘Joy’ is about two blonde girls. They are pure, sisterly in the orchestral setting, but when it cuts to the quirky love rap the unification and the sex starts. I guess I (the narrator) am the goblin in this Rossetti pastiche.” Jockstrap will play a frankly ridiculous line-up at the 100 this Sunday (7th of October) alongside Black Midi, ALASKALASKA, Audiobooks, Ellery’s other project Black Country, New Road and many many more. -Holly Mullineaux
